PERU: Flight to Lima, Ancon

So here it is, my first post about Peru. I figured I would split up the pictures and stories between the different climates and landscapes we were in. Half of these pictures were taken on on an iphone and the other on Billy's nice SLR. So forgive the clear discrepancies. The ease of the iPhone is just too enticing, even on a trip!

DAY 1: We fly from SLC - LAX and LAX - LIM

This is us flying. So exciting. Everything we brought for two weeks fit in Billy's 20liter and my 35liter. Pretty good packing huh?

We got in late and slept all three of us (Gard, Billy, Jana) in a bed somewhere in size between a twin and a full?

It was only in the morning that I realized an extra bed would have cost approximately $10 more. For some reason, that seemed extremely unreasonable at the time. So instead, I was middle spoon between Gard and Billy. all. night. long. This could be one of the more hilarious decisions of the trip. Even more hilarious, this was repeated 3 nights in a row at 3 different hostels. We are such frugal travelers. notcomplainingjuststatingafact.nocomplaininghere.

DAY 2: ANCON

Next day we hoped a "combi bus" (a.k.a an extremely crowded mini-van full of teeny Peruanos and three giant Gringos) and headed up the north coast to Ancon. In the summer this town is packed with hip Espanards, but was empty except for a few "kiddies" - local jovenes there for school.
